Welcome to This Fit Kitchen! I am so excited that you are here! I hope that you enjoy the recipes and information that I have to share. My name is Andrea and I love to experiment in my kitchen. I am all about creating recipes that are both delicious and healthy. I firmly believe that you don’t have to sacrifice one for the other.
I have loved to cook and bake for as long as I can remember. However, too many years of indulging this hobby, paired with a few other unhealthy habits and I found myself weighing upwards of 200 pounds. Today I weigh a lot less than that but even more importantly, I couldn’t be happier with how I feel in my own skin – regardless of what I weigh. But it took me a while to get here. Regardless of where you are in your own wellness journey, just take it day-by-day.
My breaking point was realizing that putting on my shoes was becoming an uncomfortable undertaking. As a result, I decided to make some changes in both the way I move my body and the things I nourish it with. For a while, that meant my food wasn’t too exciting – and my exercise mostly involved being a slave to various cardio machines.
More recently I had the fortune to find an amazing coach and these days I lift (heavy!) and always enjoy lots of awesome food. I’ve come to love having fitness in my life, and now I also love the foods I eat. My coach provides me with guidance on macros, and then I take it from there, creating recipes that I love. I eat carbs, fat and protein every day. No Keto diet or paleo diet here – just mostly minimally processed foods in proportions and portions that work for me.
